lifting weight

In this assignment we were to animate a character lifting a heavy box. Since I'm away on personal business, I don't have access to the exact information everyone else has, but I tried my best! I acted out the lifting to get a feel of the movement, but since I do not have any viceo recording equipment I couldn't affix a reference video I made myself. I looked at youtube videos for reference instead.

The hardest thing for me to do when I animate is getting the timing right, and figuring out what to do in the inbetweens where I haven't been clear to myself what I want. This animation is a a bit haphazardly put together, but I still think I got a pretty good "lifting animation."

Until next time!!

LOOPDELOOP

I just found this thing, and it's hella interesting! Really fun to see so many different animators do their thing, very inspiring!

(Go check out their archives!! Go go go!!!)

Are you... Polish, by any chance?

...Are you?

We had a Flash workshop today, very fun! We got to learn how symbols and stuff worked, and we made a little lipsync test! Very unfinished, and... I didn't have a tablet with me.... I'm just making up excuses, I'm sorry.

Have a look at the video instead!!

I... drew cube guy... Again... (Although I was going for a more... Problem Sleuth kinda look, but I guess they're kinda cube guy too??!??!!)

Ta!

Knight Rider storyboard

One of our assignments was to make a storyboard based on scripts given to us. I had to choose the one that had lots of cars in it... But I actually liked it, drawing the storyboard forced me to look at cars and actually draw them. The storyboard I have here is unedited, so the first page is drawn in Photoshop, and there are several panels that are unfinished, but I hope it makes a little sense anyway.

These are some character sketches for the project (they are also in included in the sketchbook PDF)

Cartoon Take

Very late with this assignment, but it was very very fun! Used a dope sheet for the first time, and it actually corresponded quite well with the final animation. This is only the first "draft," so to speak, so there are no inbetweens added later, I winged everything. I really should add some frames here and there, but overall I'm actually pretty proud that the timing worked okay!

I find it difficult to animate Cuby since he does not have any features to show that his head is turning, but hopefully I managed to convey his motions...

Heavy ball (snort)

Here is a very yellow (and short) line test for a heavy ball I did, I wanted to redo the line test for my showreel, since the first one... was way too small.

It's still very very short, just 1 second, but hopefully you can see what's going on!!

Hello

Long time no see!!

I haven't been posting much for... reasons, but I will start updating this blog as often as I can from now on!

I will try to post my animations in the following posts, but I figured I could post some of my drawings here, along with the PDF containing my sketchbook project.
